    Default Pauls Nova Turbo Rebuild

Not done an update thread on my car for ages, but done a fair few bits, so time for a W.I.P. thread...

For those of you that dont know it:

Well after blowing my turbo engine up back in august just before the PNG llandow trackday, i decided to use the XE from my white one in it, to go to the trackday.

So 7pm friday night, just after the knocks and bangs began!:

It got towed down to my garage where it was to be changed over, ready for some abuse on the Monday at Llandow.

I got the white one in this condition, with the intended use of repairing it and using it for winter:

I got this the first week in July, and found an XE for it, with all conversion parts etc, so this got done and was nearly ready for the road by late july!

Anyway, I raided the white Nova for its XE engine:

Out came the blue Nova's turbo engine:

And the XE went in, complete with the F28 due to the mount. After this it got a bit hectic, approx 7pm on the Saturday, so no pics were taken.

Anyway to cut a long story short, after a few problems it eventually fired up and i was set to drive back from the garage to Wales to do the PNG trackday @ LLandow. Unfortunately I got no further than to pick my mate up when the XE engine started to knock, so all that effort for nothing!

So a few months on, the LET has been stripped to reveal:

The engine has now gone away to be rebuilt!:D

And I have decided to change the colour of my car!

So the stripdown of the rest of the car began, which included the rollcage going through the windscreen! and a replacement door being sourced, along with a pair of new rear quarters, new wings, new grill (thanks to it being dropped), and the sideskirts being removed.

And after the car was bare-ish, the rubbing down began! oh joy

Heres a pic of my mate to finish the update

    More to come soon....

Forgot to mention, to get the white on running for winter was my priority which happened a few months back (Sept 1st), i got a new engine, donor Cally!

Out came the engine, and went into its new home:

And this is how she looks now:

I dont mate, I do prep, it keeps costs down. I barely trust myself with a paint brush at work, let alone a spray gun on a car!!
