gearheads project convertable

bought this hutchinson design convertable march last year for basically nothing as the bloke i got it of liked wat i was going to do with it.
had tax and mot, new tyres,new shocks, new brakes new 32/34 weber carb and i payed 175 for it!!

the basic plan is
outside;
mk 2 front, bumpers smoothed, white roof, clear rear lights, standard plastic grill, 16" white alloys{undecided what ones}

engine;
tuned 1600 runing twin 40's, 4 branch manifold, full magnex exhaust system,

interiour;
white leather seats with red stitching, custom mods to dash and a good sound system



wen i got it back i thought id clean it a bit just to check how clean the basic shell was

Looks tidy. Front bumper either needs removing (mk2 on a mk1 doesnt look right IMO) or fix it up properly.

rite stripping commenced beggining of march:
















after checking everywere for rust and shell stripping we started on the engine bay:

we the cleaned the engine bay and sanded it all, used rust remedy, quite abit!



done a little bit of seam welding as were using a 1600 block




after alot of sanding and treating the rust we smoothed all the surfaces ready for etch primer
