    Not keen on words - here are some pics, first started out transforming the "garage" into something we could work in.

    Bought some Spax RSX Coilovers



    The engine, and bits (as it came)




    Got the Karcher out to give it a blast (along with some Jizer)


    All dry


    Lick o paint


    Oil cooler sandwich plate removed


    Bypass added

    Carpets up, and sold - boooo sound deadening pads suck!


    But none in the rears - bonus!


    Headlining and all seatbelts removed


    Wings, bonnet & bumper off to avoid any dings


    Into storage to save any mishaps


    All ancil's of engine removed, ready for the out


    And she's out - through the bottom, and lifted the shell over it


    Empty bay - wahoo



    All hooked up


    Single V bottom pulley sourced, and cleaned/ polished up (cheers Rick)

    Bay before & after a bit of Jizer Degreaser, water wash down, and airgun dried
















    Hubs degreased, cleaned & painted... inners polished up

    On with the rear beam... wheels off, springs out




    Beam off


    Cylinders & shoes checked - like new, no need for replacing these


    Squirted with brake cleaner followed by airline


    Removal of bushes, in place for polybushes (awaiting collection from jonboy - cheers again mate)


    Calipers & drums painted up Hammerite Smooth




    Rear beam before and after tarting

    Even emptier engine bay ready for welding.. steering rack removed, brake servo/ mc removed, front brake lines removed, loom, bonnet catches etc


    [b]11" Spal pusher fan sourced


    Upgraded servo to GTE item, rubbed it down, painted it up (cheers Burgo)

    New purchases... chassis plating kit


    Windows out


    3mm polycarbonate sourced




    Bosh, done


    Weight of the 2x rear quarters in GLASS (without rubbers)


    Weight of the 2x rear quarters in 3MM POLYCARB (without rubbers)


    Original weight of POT type flywheel that was previously on this engine jeeez

    Standard weight of a FLAT type flywheel before going to the machinists


    And after being skimmed & balanced... niiiiiiice :biggrin:


    Bought new 16v disks and pads, bargain prices too


    Rear beam being polybushed


    Faulty insert was waaayyyy too long and wouldn't fit the mounting points


    Vice & hacksaw sorted that, strange as to why it was so much longer tho
