Mark one dash is a big no no! the only thing that i would leave a mark one dash in would be the Sport, something about that nasty brown plastic thats just alowed in that car. GSI dash or nothing at all!
That pretty much summed it upOriginally Posted by Bottlethroddy

btw yes, I'm wearing sh!t old trainers in that pic. Why on earth would I want to sully my decent or everyday shoes by touching them with the abhorration that is the Mk1 dash?!Originally Posted by dave.gsi

All valid points. However I hate the mk1 dash purely for the material its made of & the downfalls that brings, a hollow droning sound which accentuates engine noise & road noise. And the extra creaks & rattles due to the harder plastic.Originally Posted by GTE TURBZ
Otherwise I couldnt fault the ergonomics of my old mk1 tbh. Stereo location is better.

I also think mk2 dash in a full interior'd car, where as mk1 dash in a stripped out car.

Agree - the material is appaling, imagine showing your new Nova to your mk2 golf driving mates in the late 80's only for one of them to tap the nasty hard dash and laugh in your face. I like the design of it, it has a nice Novaesque square simplicity compared to the lumpy mk2 dash, and those little shelfs under it are pretty useful (not sure if the mk2 has these too). Never been able to get my glovebox to close properly though.Originally Posted by craig green
