    Mk2's are better than Mk1's :D

Anyway... take the best bits from both and stick onto whichever is the better shell/chassis.

if a car is recorded as scrap then i dont think u can undo it unless you re-register it. i had that problem a few years back with a couple of mk 2 golfs, the better of the two was already scrapped, so i started swapping bits, bought my nova for ?50 and scrapped the pair of them!

You can. My Nova was written off as scrapped but what happened was we sent a letter to the DVLA about it along with the contact details of the previous owner and it got sorted.

Scrapped, or insurance write off? Certain categories of write offs can be re-registered. Theoretically a car thats been scrapped should be taken to the scrapyard immediately and/or disposed of, so can't be re-registered - the DVLA is being hammered by the EU and the lib dems at the moment because its very very slack about this process, thus allowing scrapped cars to live on.

I'm sure you made this exact thread wondering whether to swap your blue one for the white one not so long ago
