    Also after powerflex bushes.
Ooh an the gear linkage bush (the one that EVERY corsa will need at some point in its life)

Bumped into a mate today and he has just bought a corsa GSi and is putting a C20XE in it so offered me the GSI engine for..........diddly squit! (M reg GSI engine C16XE or X16XE?)

Weather permitting, tomorrow i will strip the front off the corsa and have a good look about it. Il take some pics too...
Seems like its goin alright for you then. Will be good to see the progress!

U can get a new one on ebay for ?30 bud.
That would be an c16xe IIRC. Can get a healthy power hike out of these engines with the right mods.

Dunno what the c16xe engine is like but from past experience with the x14xe the head gasket is a weak spot, few lads i know have had this problem.

Tonight i suddenly got the notion to work on the corsa (in the dark/cold/wet)

Fitted new battery, tailights, removed hideous seat covers and rear spoiler (needs new tailgate)

Also fitted new starter motor (while hollering swearwords at it!)

Fired it up, and it runs!!! not very well but at least it runs!

I then went to put petrol in it and was met with a dripping/gushing sound. i looked underneath to see petrol pissing out of the tank. It sems the pipe from the filler neck to the tank has been cut and cable tied back - wierd.

Must still be a bit of fuel in there as it ran for a wee bit.

Also while fitting starter i had a good look underneath for any signs of rot and i can happily say there is none! - front crossmember, chassis legs etc etc are all solid!!

Not bad for a dark nights work !

Oh and the B-pillars ARE cracked

Got home from work today, stuck some water in it, fired it up.

Sat with it running for 10-20 mins and everythng became clear - using ****eloads of water, oil looks like its from a rover (hellmans oil) and running like a bag of ****e till it eventually conked out!

    Head gasket for deffo!!

At least i know for sure now!

Thatl keep me busy for a while.

Il get pics when its light (i get up, its dark. I come home from work, its dark)
