I think that sounds like a plan, i might put the headunit in the glovebox though just for ease of access, apparently with the transmitter you get the full function of the Ipod so i can control volume from it aswell.

How about moving the horn and fitting a real small ipod into the steering wheel centre?

    It can be done!

Buy an ipod - AV lead from Comet/Currys etc the one with yellow, Red and white end on it. Run Straight into an amp. No headunit required.

how come your using an ipod? (sorry i detest ipods with a passion haha) jus thinkin if your doin a swish install (sounds phat so far!) then maybe a creative zen would be better? creatives play mp3s better and i think the difference is noticeable and also you could get the black one where the screen isnt visible until the player is switched on? if u mounted it into a blac or dark purple dash it would be virtually unnoticeable until you turn the ignition on! if i had the skill money or effort in me to do it i would! im lookin forward to seeing pics of this when its finished!

there are no pics yet, most of the sound system is still in the planning phase, i dont like to rush these things.

plus i need to get a few bodywork issues sorted before i install it all

I might be wrong but there's probably more support available on the net using an ipod as its been done before.
