My headunit is the retro looking mp3 pioneer one DEH something or other.
Pioneer 6x9's and some 13" that I've got kicking around.

As for wireless controllers.... the one I've got for the xbox in my house if paff. I could use wireless and it would be easier to a certain extent but the xbox will be hidden... the only bit on view will be the switch panel and the drive. Its all xbox I'm afraid... 360 is a bit over priced imo.

I Got discount on our 360, ordered it 3 months before release date, through my bro's mate (paid ?156.99 included 2xwireless controllers, 4 new games, all adaptors etc etc). The 360 is mainly my bro's, but i think i play it more than he does .

    Sorry to go off topic

my little bro has one too.
I kinda figured I'd just go for the xbox as I didnt wanna chop up a 360. Plus I've got loads of games.

Little bit of an update, i havent got any pics as yet because no real work has been done. I have bought all of the materials i need to replace all of the headunit wiring.

I need to run an idea by people that i have been thinking of though.

I want to hide the headunit in the car somewhere out of the way and install an Ipod into the drivers door card. the only way i can see it being done is with an FM transmitter that plugs into the Ipod and sends a signal to the headunit.

does anyone have any better ideas as really i dont want a headunit at all and just have the ipod but i dont think this can be done i think i need the headunit as a signal carrier.

If you fitted the headunit under the drivers seat, an ipod adapter cable might be long enough to run along the sill, up the pillar, into the door....

You'd have to get a head unit with a remote though.

well you can get an Ipod FM transmitter that you tune in to a particular frequency, you can then do it all wireless and the reception isnt affected as the 2 items are so close together

Go for it... sounds like a good idea to me.

I think you should stick your headunit under the seat or maybe on the front parcel shelf under the steering wheel would be better for access. You could front it off with some aluminium so that it cant be seen.
