Alpine are geat, sound top notch, and look the part. BUT, you pay for it, if i were you i would wait, till i could afford 150GBP, then get a new one to last you a while.

Should be able to pick up a second hand Alpine for <?80, but don't expect it to play MP3s.

if your running amps, make sure the pre-outs are as high as possible. most are 2 or 3 volts. Normally the sub channel is higher tho.

I'd agree with matt1, if you save another 70 quid you could get the 9848rb alpine unit, top notch sound, great alpine build quality and plus its got direct aux in from the rear so you can run a portable mp3 player straight into it.

If your that desperate for one i could do ya one for ?130 delivered.

for just under 80 quid you can get a pioneer deh 2800mp. has 1 pre out but being pioneer it will last forever. or get jvc kdg 521 it has aux through the front and is awsome vfm.
