Mk 2 dash lights again!!
right now ive sorted my heater lights out by swoping the bulbs, but i cant get the ashtray light to work! i have tried changing the bulb and have followed the wires back as far as i can - does anyone have any suggestions?
P.S where do the wires actually go?

It might only come on when the ignition is on or engine is running, or when the lights are on? I spent 2 hours trying to fix a rear window heater (on a carlton) for the same reason. doh!

it gets lit my having the side lights on (grey/green wire)
