    I have just purchased a 1.3 SR what can i do to the engine to get more power nothing to expensive i have about ?150

    the old filter and zorst is your best bet. Go for an Ashley system (about ?100 for a full system, and they give very good power gains) and a pipercross or a K&N bolt on filter...this should see u right with at least 10bhp...and you shouldn't get fisted too much by your insurance company.

    if you get a manifold and a airfilter, you should see more power then an exhuast & filter. But obviuosly it doesn't look as good. I'd save a bit more and get the lot.

    I'd try & find a second hand weber 32/34 direct replacement carb for about ?100 (with filter). if you've got the cash get new sparks and HT's then get it set up on a rolling road for bout ?50. you can then look towards exhuast etc. and dont tell the insurance company!
