    Default corsa 16v engine

the engine in my 1.4 sr is dead (conrod through block) so I need a new engine. As I have only just turned 18, it won't be a 2 litre turbo yet, so I was wondering about a corsa 1400 16 valve engine. Does it fit straight in, would my 4 branch manifold fit, and what other work would need doing? Finally, how much is the engine and fitting likely to cost? Any info would be great.

engine will go in on standerd mounts

u will need f13 gearbox and that will mate to your drive shafts

u will need gte/gsi petrol tank and u will need manifold for that perticular engine

I was thinking about the same conversion too. U beat me to it! I spoke to Bernie from Novatech today while my car was being serviced there, and he said if you supply the engine, gearbox and loom, he will fit the lot for about ?550. But that was on my SRi, which wouldnt require a change of fuel tank/pump, so add a bit extra for your car. I have seen these engines for as little as ?300, with lowish mileage, so it would seem to be a sound conversion.

Thats feckin expensive!!! Ste, how much we chargin for this conversion?
The thing u should worry about is insurance!!!!
If u go from 1.4carb8v, to 1.4i8v, they add a bit on! If u go to 1.4i16v they think fuck, he's mad, and rip u off!!!!
