    Default rear disk conversion

Does anybody know how to go about doing a rear disk conversion. It is one thing I would like to do to my GSi in a couple of months, but I haven't got a clue what is involved or what parts to buy. Is there any welding that needs doing or any parts that need to be made? any help would be appreciated. cheers

You need to remove the whole stub axles, then cut/grind the welds from the square axle mounting plate. Then you need to weld on some new plates with the astra stub axle hole patern. I made the new plates but I think you can buy them from a company called carquip? You will also have to modify the handbrake cable.

Brake bias valve. Very Very important. If the brake bias is left standard you will end up dizzy everytime you slam on the brakes.

You could try Regal Auto's on 02380 791000 or BAT Motorsport on 0151 709 8585.
If the pricings the same as with engine conversions they will be almost 50% cheaper.

I take it that it is not worth attempting if you can't weld!!!!!
