I cant tell if its definatley a Zetec or not coz by the time ive had a chance to look up its so far behind me I can't work out what it is in my mirror.

there is no doubt that the zetecs are quick. however its all to do with what condition the engines are in. if yours is shagged you get beat simple. if its ok you piss on them. word of warning - ax 1.1i are fast as fuck! aslmost dicked me in my 1.4sr! anyone know why they are so dam fast?

AX's are so fast because they don't way bugger all. You can't lean on the body work or it dents!

A 1.25 Zetec puts out 75 horsies which is the same as a standard 1.4SR, so it depends on the weight of both (as well as the driver). My ex had a 1.4 Zetec Fiesta that put out 90bhp (the same as my old crap 1.6 Zetec escort). The 1.4 Zetec will piss on standard and lightly modded SR/SRi's and will see off some GTE/GSI's as well.

Still a Ford though which means its unreliable and shite!!

My Dad's a driving instuctor, and he's got a 1.25 Zetec Fiesta Si, and I've driven it loads of times.
It's nice to drive, but no where near as quick as my 1.3 Nova. You put your foot down, and it goes, but it's not mind blowing.
In fact, my old 1.2 Nova accelerated quicker, and that was standard.
