Next year i am looking to buy another GTE/GSI but would like to know how much i would expect to pay for a mint one and which one would be the best to get, engine wise ?

depends how mcuh your willing to pay and what condition nova your after.
both GTE and GSi have virtually the same engine, both have bosch jetronic fuel injection too. both 100bhp, or is it 101??
GSi looks better IMO though
The late GSI's had c16se engines, which were better, no AFM to fook up, no dizzy/rotor etc to wear out.
As for price, tbh you could pay anything, a good condition 1.2 goes for at least ?500.
GTE/GSI would be closer to the 1K mark, if you can find a good condition one.

Its worth what you are willing to pay. i have a GSi myself but ask me now & I'd sooner have a GTE. Old style front ends are rarer now & they can look so smart with the right mods.
Engines are reliable & torquey. Though noone seems to know much about them.
Stan is the Red GTE still going?
its on its last legs, i got a bit of a problem wiv the rear left caving in above the spring makin the inside of the body crumple slightly and snap ! Well gutted, still runnin though, definately would want another 1, dont know how much to fix it hence lookin for another 1 so if any1 has got a mint GTE/GSI for sale pm me !
If uve already got a gsi/gte just buy a mint 1.2 for about 300 quid and reshell it all into the 1.2. :wink:
