    Default -40/-60 suspension insurance increases

Whilst doing on-line quotes which cater for modifications, I have always ticked "lowered > 50mm" and it ends up telling me it can't give me a quote. It can, however, for suspenion "lowered < 50mm". Also after ringing insurance companies they say they'll get back to me after telling them -60mm suspension.

Do insurance companies frown more upon -60mm suspension? Am I likely to pay much more for an extra 20mm drop? What's everybody elses experience with this?

    Default

Its because their view is you're putting more stress on the suspension components and geometry with over 50mm than you are with under 50mm. Higher stress = higher chance of component failure = increased risk of accident and resultant claim.

Although iirc when I last looked on elephant they didn't seem to differentiate in price between the two suspension levels...
