Only limited byt your budget really.... but isn't the cav 1.6 engine lower power than the nova 1.6?

IIRC the 1.6carb engine is lower bhp than the nova 1.6 engine.

    Whats your engine code?

the E is for fuel injection i think. C16SE, C20XE

So yes yours is the carb version of the C16SE and it comes with less power.

You could maybe look at upgrading the head to the C16SE head (as no doubt the SV head could be worse) and aquiring a set of T40's and round port manifold.

Coupled with some headwork and a cam and a decent manifold and exhaust it should see you with a healthy increase in power

i mentioned in ur other post "nova" that this 16sv cav engine is much lower power than gte/gsi 16se lumps. Itll cost u arm, leg and hope to get the cav motor near the 100bhp of gte/gsi 1600's. But if u have to stick with this engine, then a 32/43 carb, like u mentioned, or better still twin 40's, with a cam, headwork (gasflowing, open up ports, bigger valves, if poss) exhaust manifold and system and a f13 box (closer ratios - accelerate quicker) shud get it going something similar to gte gsi lump; but theres easy a grand's worth of spending there..
