are you saying your water pump and crankshaft sprocket is square? and your top pulley is what? round?

just get a square tooth top pulley to match bottom stuff.

    Default pully

Ihave been trying to get a round touth vinier pulley for my car for 2 mounths now.
all i can get is squre touth.
I was going to change all pullys to squre touth witch can be done, i think !
It is just that the timeing belt is longer with squre teath.
do you know if the water pump would turn round far enough to take up the slack or will i neen a smaller belt.

all the later engines ie GTE etc use round teeth so whats the problem?

square teeth was only used on 1300s and very early 1200 carbs everything since then was round

    Default PULLEY

The problem was that I can't get a second hand round touth virnier pulley.Icould only get a square touth.
Now I know it won't fit for the belt to big and theres no smaller one.
Ionly needed the round touth virnier pulley to set the engine up for were not aloud to race with one on the car.
You mite think Iam a cheep skate but Iam 15 and still at school and DADS on a tight budget.

take your existing pulley and elongate the pin hole for the locator, that way you can have the right teeth and have adjustability, and im sure the other racers do that too

    This'll conduse you.

The 1.2 round tooth top pulley i have is different to the 1.6 Round tooth top pulley i've got.

The grooves are deeper in the 1.6 i think.

Snowface you are confusing me even more. Itook round touths of 16s,14s and 12s. 90% of them are the same.

Stuart I think thats a good idea but Elongateing the hole,. will the pulley not move ! Is the pin not to keep the pulley in place ?

    Cheers lads
