    Default Radio cassette security code????

    Hello all.
    My mates just bought a run around while his nova is off the road. Its a K reg Toyota Carina.
    Anyway, it has a Philips radio cassette fitted, which doesn't work. It doesn't power up at all.
    So i thought tonight i would take it out and get the multimeter out and test if its getting a live feed.
    1) Where can i get the metal things from that remove the stereo, or can i make them.
    2) I noticed the radio said security code written on it, and it isn't getting power so i need the code to unlock it when i supply the power. But is there anyway to find the code out, the bloke who my mate bought the car off said that he never used the radio so never tried to turn it on.
    But he hasn't got the code, do all the units have the same code.

    thanks for any replies

    8 quid. :!:

    Isn't there just a program on the internet that will find it, it is summit to do with the serial number isn't it.
    The search begins ::

    Is the number 4digit, and is there like a lock out fundtion if you keep entering it wrong.
    When you supply power back to the stereo will it just ask for the code.

    instead of buying the pins to pull the stereo out, slide a knife or object like it to release the catches to get the stereo out, might take a few mins but shorta than going to halfords and geting ripped off ::

    Too right!

    Two small screwdrivers all the way! Never let me down so far.

    (The small ones are the PC repairs and modelling type ones. have a funny turny bolt shape on the end of handle.
