    Default carriage bar

    rite i am buying a GTE front bumper to go on my mk1 nova. is the olny thing i have to do take the carriage bar off the origanal bumper and put it on the GTE one??

    come on poeple is the olny thing i have to do is take the carriage bar off the origanal bumper and put it on the GTE one??

    you dont need to swap any carriage bars. The GTE bumper will bolt straight on to your mk1.

    ..unless the GTE bumper comes without the bar, in which case you'll need to put the bar on.

    Bear in mind the GTE bumper has mounts along the bottom, which rivet/screw onto the valance. If you have a standard mk1 front bumper you'll need to remove the bit of plastic that runs along the bottom of the valance (found this out with my saloon!)

    Good point, i just assumed the gte bumper would have a carriage bar on..

    the bumper will bolt straight on. as for that strip along the bottom i pulled it off and the wing seperated from the front . had a new wing now and sealed it anyway but be carefull!
