Got a couple of hours done today, everything is disconnected and loom is moved out of the way (tucked behind firewall), manifold is off and I've removed hubs and driveshafts.
Engine is ready to come out now so I'll do that during the week one night after work.

In laws are buying me a mig welder so gonna get some practice in cause its been a long time since I've done any kind of welding haha.

    Couple of pics for you

It's pretty poor to say the least. Hope it wasn't too expensive.

Cost me a grand for it all doing, ive lost out really.
Could of put that money into the engine conversion, but the arches did really need doing so they should last a couple of years until I get the whole car done properly at my mates bodyshop

    Got the engine out today.
Get the rest of bits out the bay this weekend then once I have my new welder ill start stripping back all the seam sealer for stitch welding.

Any tip? Or am I best just going at it with a wire wheel?

    Good progress.

Still sucks a bit about the bodyshop quality, I sometimes wonder how such people can stay in business and continue to make money

Yeah it sucks mate but these things happen, unfortunately this time it was me . Wont happen again though thats for sure.
Its going in with my mate next time, only reason I didnt put it in with him in the first place was doqn to cost, but ill save up and pay for a proper job.

Saying that a grand is still a lot to pay out for that shit job

Quick one, do I need this canister behind the passenger wing or can I get rid?
