    Default dizzy cap problem

I have a problem with my dizzy cap, orange type with clips.
engine started backfiring, removed dizzy cap and the middle contact pin had broken off.
fitted new cap and engine wasn't starting, found out the middle pin didn't make contact with rotor??

are there different types dizzy caps and or rotors?
