How come they didn't blast all the paint off?

They don't tend to blast the large flat panels as the heat can distort them, most flat panels can be bare metalled before paint.

Atleast that's what my painter did as my roof skin wasn't blasted

Asked him just to go around the edge of the panels and not blast the centres as there isn’t much strength in the doors or rear quarters as I didn’t want to distort them. Bodyshop can just sand them down with ease and no damage

Came up very well the shell, was very surprised only a few pin prick size holes in front valance & Rear Panel

Looks really good that, I think if I did another rebuild I would get the car blasted.

Some photos sent through from the body shop.
Delocked + side repeaters blanked off and the wiper mount strengthened up to the bulkhead

Dropped my F20 Quaife Box off at Angus Lawrie Motorsport at Castle Douglas last week for a strip down & rebuild. Good job I did as the inside of the reverse gear has worn out and damaged the synchro above it. Luckily they are both standard GM parts and hopefully getting parts up to him ASAP.

Also getting a rear F20 gearbox mount fabricated by Angus to allow for the 3rd mounting bolt point.
