    How you planning on mounting it? Rear engine rwd? Front engine rwd? Seen a few front engine rwd mk1 fiestas using bike engines

    The ghetto way iv always imagined would work well would be a diff from an f20 say with a sprocket mounted to the bolts on it . Using a machined carrier ( bearings etc )
    Mounted were a standard diff would be barring a frame holding the engine and the diff the rest of the car could stay standard in theory

    This is the critical bit; where do you want to mount the engine, and which wheels do you want to be driven?

    There’s certainly a mid (rear?) engine Nova using motorcycle power. I have some photos somewhere, I’m pretty sure it was a German car.

    Google ‘Opel Corsa C motorcycle engine’

    There’s been a few of those which offer good inspiration.

    Classic Minis and Hillman Imps are also a good hunting ground, loads of bike engined ones of those to crib from.

    There’s a particularly nice Mini which runs at Gurston Down, with front mounted, FWD via Yamaha R1 motor.

    Many years ago I bought a Nova with a Fireblade motor mounted up front. To the best of my knowledge it had never run in that format.

    I broke the car for bits, it was a well fabricated thing using a proper Quaife reversing gear box (reverse is of course something to think about).

    I think grassers use a starter motor for reverse if you get stuck

    They do, it’s the cheap way to do it, acting directly onto a driveshaft is the common method.

    As total-vauxhall mentions, grasstrackers are widely using this technology, worth a look is this website;
