    Default Starter motor wiring

Well it's been about 3 years since I stripped the car and now I've got to the point where I need to try and sort the wiring out. (Yes I should have labeled it)
Below is a pic of the starter can anyone tell me what wires go where please.

If you look at this one, the square end (thicker red) goes to where you put the earth wire. The thinner goes to the bolt on the alternator. From my research the brown earth from the battery goes to one of the starter mounting bolts.

Ok so it's now wired like this

So need to get the alternator wired up now, small red goes to the alternator

There are to places it can bolt up,

I've tried on both but it's not cranking

Any ideas where this earth goes?

So it's all wired up and cranking over, just need to know what this Spade connector is for.

It's a blue wire and runs along the loom with the alternator earth.
    Cheers Nick.

Again this is my small block alternator. You can just see a single + on the crank loom. I’d assume the connection you would use is the bigger one ( B+). Difficult to see on my Corsa sport which probably runs the same set up as yours.
In terms of the ignition warning light in the dash, it runs a blue and white wire to the alternator ( tends to be a spade connector).
Don’t recognise the other earth tho.

Edit- sorry didn’t see 2nd post saying it was cranking now. That looks like the dash warning light wire (agsinnif blue/white)

I thought the blue white, wire might be for the dash warning light, there isn't anywhere on my alternator for it to plug in, as it's for the X18XE1 engine. I thinking as it just let's you know if the voltage had dropped it should be able to get the reading from anywhere with a permanent live?
    Cheers for your help.

Single blue wire might be temp guage wire.

Top of page he's asking what the blue wire is with a spade which is the temp guage wire.
