    Default First engine conversion

    Hi there

I've just bought a K reg 93 1.2i Nova. I'm looking to do an engine swap. I'm currently looking at a Calibra 2.0 8v from an early 90's model. I'm aware of certain things I'll need to upgrade ie: bigger welds in engine bay, fuel tank, fuel pump, suspension and brakes. I've got a friend with 2 full complete Cavalier legs (same era) buried away somewhere, but wondered if anyone knew if A: will these be sufficient enough and B: are they a straight swap, before I start digging around for them.

    Thanks

You don't have to change the chassis legs .
Just a notch or dent for the alternator pulley but that's about it buy or make some engine mounts . Buy some drive shafts . If your just running standard power I wouldn't even bother welding the bay . I never have on a road going car and never had a problem .

My 2ltr 8v nova was fine without being stitched. Did do it when fitted the let though .

Here’s a good read for you, it will help understand what’s needed for the conversion.
