Default Getting rid of first car for something more... spirited!

I'm looking at getting rid of my '57 3dr Astra for something that's more rewarding to drive now that my insurance isn't as hilariously expensive as it was a few years back. The Astra was handed down from my parents who had it as a commuter, and I'll be selling it for a few thousand as it's still in decent condition. I was wondering if I am meant to pay any taxes or anything like that on the sale? (UK based) Had a look through <Link removed> but not convinced I'm doing it right as it lands me with a huge amount of tax to pay. Can someone point me in the right direction? My insurance still has a month so don't want it gone immediately, just quite soon

    Cheers!

I've never paid any tax on any car I've sold, nor anyone I know.

Sorry if it wasn't an appropriate way to post but it's a genuine concern I have - going by totalnova's post it's possibly a misplaced concern though!

well its not a spam post then Curious how the forum let you post a link on your first post though.

    Welcome.
I assume you arent familiar with the relatively simple way the UK deals with car sales.
In short, no tax to pay buying/selling (unless you buy a commercial vehicle then VAT is excluded/added)
