    Thats brilliant thanks Jack.

    All I have to do is find a mk1 set of clocks now.

    Also the clocks I have in the car look more like the 1st set of poverty spec clocks pictured above. I'm going to have to have a look at the back of them and check the wiring as they may already have been chopped and changed for a mk2 plug - this car has had a lot of work and I wouldnt be suprised if its had rev counter clocks before.

    I've got a set of 1992 GSI clocks

    I'm hoping the plug is the same but I've not had chance to get the clocks out of the car yet so we'll see

    Any clues as to how I "correct" the mileage?

    Take the Speedo out the 6 dials. Use your old Speedo in the 6dials so you keep the correct mileage. The faces are different sizes so you will need to swap them over. Just remove the small screws on the Speedo and use 6 dial face on your Speedo.
