    Default Removing Rubbing strips

    As title, mk1 side rubbing strips, hoping just stuck on?

    Best way to remove??

    Heat gun or hair dryer is probably best option. Get the panel hot as well then slowly peel them off.
    Once off the fun begins.... removing any remaining glue! Tar remover a small amount of heat to loosen the glue and then rub/peel.
    Good luck. It has to the the 2nd worse job, 2nd only to removing sound deadening!

    Just done mine on my mk1. Lift one end of the strip and pull carefully. They will leave the tape behind which you will have to soak in tar/glue remover and scrape away! It's time consuming to get off.

    I pulled the ones of my sr and had no problems then my mate had a 1.2 and it ripped the paint off

    I had that on my mk2 1.2 peel peel peel rrrriiiippppppp oh, that'll be paint off then
