    Default black smoke from exhaust

I got some water on my engine, and afterwards it wouldn't idle. I managed to get it to run again, by tightening the servo vacuum pipe where it goes into the manifold. It idles ok now, but there is black smoke coming from the exhaust. Any ideas?? Thanks

What engine is it? If you've a carburettor you may have water in it, whip out your plugs and give them a clean off and try running it again.
