Don't know how I feel about this, I love that the Nova is being saved but seeing an Evo cut up like that just doesn't feel right, but I know it will become something brilliant.
    Good luck with the build.

I know what you mean, but i looked for the worst one i could find and this was it, rotten sills, rotten inner sills, and the sills full of expanding foam ?
It was brush painted/rolled nato green, had dints on every panel and the rear quarter had been nudged causing the back door not to close properly, and the seats and interior were worn. all the bits i need are good, needs must etc...
I will sleep tonight after cutting this pile of shxt to bits

Sounds like a perfect candidate to be cut up . Look forward to seeing how this progresses.

What's left to do on the mk1 Astra?

I was just waiting for some rear polybushes that i had forgot to order, they came this week so i will be back on with the mk1 van next week.
I started the nova as i was sick of seeing them both in my front garden, plus i can do bits here and there while doing my astra.

At the end of the day all cars are made from similiar metal and pressed to different shapes so chop away the best part of an evo is the engine and running gear and the front bumper

    A few more pics...

We bob tailed the back end, to take the short arse nova

We need to mount the AYC pump somewhere else.

Power to weight is increasing all the time, another few kg off the build

    Nova sill

Nova sill offered up to evo

Need to shorten the wheelbase which is the next job

Looks to be taking shape now the back end has gone.

Nice work. It is obvious you have done this before! (Shame to see what looked to be a very original and decent ST205 die for your Astra, but great choice of engine).

Do you IVA these for road use, or are they track cars?
