but have no oil light but on cranking is flashed then that was it

brake fluid warning light (i did take the top off the reservoir and emptied the fluid out of it but still no change)

the car is a mk2 and the clocks are 6 dials
i have also tried a set of 4 dials in
now when the car is running the oil gauge is reading pressure

There's a separate wire for the light, but it's on the same sensor on the engine. Check the wire on the sensor first, or take a multimeter to the sensor to see if that pin is grounded when the engine is not running.

Sounds like you've wired the oil pressure light to the sender signal wire - its receiving a signal on cranking which is probably cos its reading pressure.
