    Default C20let / xe main bearing cap

    Im looking to order my arp main studs but i have read somewere about stepped caps and some arp not fitting .
    So my question is are all the main caps the same or is there diffrent shapes on late / early motors ect .
    Mine is the late c20let block

    anyone got part numbers ect .

    Apparently there are some very late motors that did have different caps.

    I was looking at getting some ARP mains for my c-let but have been persuaded not to as the standard ones never prove an issue. So, in that respect I'd spend the £100 else where.

    P.s mine will be 350+hp.

    12.9 Grade bolts are more than ample for main cap bolts. They see nothing like the forces a rod bolt does as it just encases a rotating assembly, no stop start stuff like rods. Rod bolts are the only thing stopping the rod and piston exiting the engine through the cylinder head at 8000rpm.

    Rather be safe than sorry though and 100 quid is peanuts compared to the damage that will be caused if one does break . im building the motor for 600hp so needs to be right .every other bolt that is avalible in the motor is arp so seems silly to leave the mains out.

    They aren't listed for the late c20let blocks. But there is a vw variety that people use...
