Facet fuel pump question

I'm planning on putting r1 carbs into my redtop and was wondering do I need to use a separate switch for the fuel pump to switch it on before I turn the car on?

Depends how you want it really, a separate switch is the easy option. Personally I would fit a relay and take a feed from the ignition switch so that when you turn the key to start the car the pump starts.
