Update: Bought a new sealey 150 mig welder from demontweeks to start the welding. This is my first attempt at welding so its not the prettiest welding but it's strong! If any one has any pointers or tips re welding please let me know .
Anyways I cracked on welding up the front lower panel welded some plates in behind and finished with the outer plate. Buzzed down welds and a skim of filler. Heres some pics.

Next will be doing the rear arches not looking forward to it .

Been out this afternoon cracking on with some bodywork finished the front lower panel repairs. Skimmed it again and coated with etch and highbuild. Looks tidy enough now.

Will paint it up and refit the lower trim at some point.
Quick shot of car. Slapped my spare wings off my sr as my need some tlc. They are rot free but the inside lips just need grinding back and treating. Quick pic of wings.

Pictures wrong order sorry. Heres a random shot of the car.

With regards to the welding all I can say is practice slot and get used to the setting on your welder, the wire speed is very important, if you can feel it pushing the Lance away from what your welding turn it down, also it's hard to describe the sound when you get a good weld, but youll know it when you hear it. Also take your time and when butt welding move to different areas of the panel your welding to avoid warping.
Also make sure you have a decent size argon shield gas bottle, the little ones are useless.
