Default Desperate to find my first car, vauxhall nova E772 BTO Can anyone help please?

Hi folks, ever since I sold my nova 1.2 merit back in 1997 I've regretted it.
I've owned many cars since including a Honda integra type R, but nothing has bitten me like the nova bug again.
I always make a bee line straight for any nova I see at any car show, its the best car I've owned so would love to see it again and hopefully buy back but I don't hold out much hope as DVLA states no records found? But not convinced that means anything as I know the DVLA are meant to have lost a load of records some years ago.
I can post some pictures up if anyone can kindly help.
I last spotted the car in derby and Ilkeston about 13 years ago..
Many thanks again for any information.

Seems strange that it doesn't pop up on the dvla website. Shows up as a red 1.2 merit on a car check though.

Since 3 November 2003 where cars have a certificate of destruction issued are deleted from DVLA website records and Total Car Check site but are still listed on certain other car check sites, irrespective of whether the car still exist. The car will have been officially scrapped or insurance write off since 2003.

Cars scrapped in earlier years will generally still be on Dvla website but records are not reliable for cars taken off the road years prior to 2003 or NI cars until very recently.

Would have been hope that the car exists if not listed anywhere as it could then be be on a private plate.

Thanks for the quick response guys, I guess its long gone but will be buying another one for sure once funds and space allow..
Yes it was a red 1.2 merit with GTE 3 spokes and SR front bumper..

Its great seeing all the projects on here, keeping the nova alive for future generations to see..

Keep up the good work folks...
