    Default mig welder

    Need a mig welder nothing to expensive. Got a few patches to weld on nova what do people recommend? Gas or gas less ect? Thanks.

    Don't get gas less they are crap
    Clarke welders from machine aren't bad an if you wait until their no vat sale you will get it cheaper too

    Iv just bought a clarke 151 and im very happy with it.

    Gas it is then. Gonna have a look at machine mart. If you don't mind me asking Andy how much you pay for the Clarke 151? Thanks

    Don't buy gasless! Buy cheap buy twice. If it's just for cars a 150amp will do you. But if you get into welding and want to make gates or weld plate etc you will need to spend more. You have to look at duty cycles to see what welder would suit you best. Duty cycles are how long you can weld before the welder needs to cool down. It's worked out in 10 minute cycles. 1 minute = 10% duty cycle. Which means 1 minute welding and 9 minutes for the welder to cool down before it can be used again.

    Also most bottom end Clarke etc machines are fitted with their own style torch that cost stupid money to replace if it breaks. Whereas if you buy a mig with a eurotorch they are cheaper to replace. If I were you your better to buy a second hand quality machine than a cheap new one.

    I have a sealey 150 I think (gas) spot on for working on the car and cheap. Takes the massive spools aswell

    240quid mate.its the blue type.they sell red ones aswell which are more money for dome reason.

    Sealy mig 180a is all I've ever used, rate it highly thou
