where the steering rack goes through each inner wing it seem like there could be a gaiter or rubber? anyone know what this is called??

seems like every nova bay Ive seen don't have it though......

I've seen something like that, but only in pictures/parts diagrams. It's like a rubber mudflap that shields the engine bay from dirt where the steering arm comes out.

I imagine it's for dusty or different climates to ours though.

I imagine it'll be nigh on impossible to find one, so it'll be a case of making something if you want something there.

yeh that's the one that I am on about, it would make sense to have one fitted even just to prevent less water and spray going in

Having used my Nova in anger in all weathers for the last number of years, I can honestly say I don't think it's necessary. However if you'd prefer it then get some mudflap material and make something.

I know I've seen it fitted on another Vauxhall, perhaps an Astra? But I can't recall ever seeing them fitted to a Nova. I guess its something they put in the shell design then decided not to fit the rubber flaps to save money, it might have only been a few pence saving but back when they first came out you were lucky to get a radio, clock and both wing mirrors!
