Buy a good quality spot drill bit I got a couple of dormer. I've just removed both quarters, rear panel, sills an other bits an just started on my second bit. I found a battery drill ideal a bit of wd40 ( for lubrication ) an go medium speed. Don't push to hard or you'll blunt the bit quick as, basically nice an steady let the drill do the work

    cheers Rich

Iv got 2 types of bit. A cutter type one and a traditional style one. The cutter just jumps around even though iv drilled pilot divets.

Looking at that article it seems theres little way of stopping the drill sometimes going though both panels.

I guess itl just take a bit more time with the welder.

If it's like the one I brought from machine mart bin it there crap. Stick with a standard one an pay a bit more it's a good investment while you own a nova . Once you've a done a few you'll get the hang of it. When you think you're nearly through stop get a thin flat blade an slide it between the panels an give it wiggle then you'll see if you need to go some more

it takes a bit of experience to feel when you have only went through one panel,
as said earlier the Dormer ones are great and what I use too,

You want the 8mm 'regular' looking drill bit with a slightly flatter head

If you can pry the panel a little bit you'll feel when you're through the top layer as it'll ping slightly, but rust is a good indication.

If in doubt, stop early and continue with the others, then pry and drill the final bits one by one as necessary.

Thin metal to thin metal is easy (1mm on 1mm) but thicker stuff like seat brackets are a pain.
