Tank looks great, I was going to paint mine black but I've now changed my mind.

Another week and some more deliveries for what is turning in to one big Airfix model!

Now I know the purists will say its not original or even the correct type for a Sport but I had choices to make. My view is that if I can save and refurb something I will, but if not and I can get something new and genuine (that still does the job) then I will. In this case, OCP were able to supply and I am happy that I now have an entirely new ignition set up to make those sparks!

Forgive my ignorance but what is wrong with it ?? Looks the same and will do the same job and is shiny...is the cap slightly different?

I vaguely remember from owning the first time around and understood the original Sport set-up was the 5 wire dizzy with the additional ignition module - this thread may explain:

I am claiming my set-up will be more reliable - 3 less wires and 1 less module! I know back in 1990 I had to buy an new module.

Ah i see. Didn't know that you could ditch the idle control unit.

Tbh it makes sense to do it the way you plan. I would do the same myself if building from shell up. One less thing to go wrong as you say.

can you not get the original dizzy either?
