    Default Ellis's Lagoon Blue Mk2,

After floating around the forums for a couple of years and not really contributing a great deal i've finally got my hands on another nova . Popped up just a couple of miles up the road so i couldn't turn it down
It's seen better days but its only had one lady owner until 2012 and her son (i think) for the last few years, although its been sat for a year or two, 45k miles from new

    There's a few bad points.
theres no ignition barrel and steering housing, not sure why as the keys are there.
it's covered in dents and scrapes and spider webs and leaves etc..
theres a few bits of rust here and there, mainly on the sills and a tiny hole in the boot

good to hear it have you done much to it in the last year?
wasn't too sure on the colour at first but it does seem pretty rare and they do look good finished in this colour so a respray will be in order at some point.
not too sure what the plan is, just tart it up a bit, sort the rust out, decent wheels, a bit lower etc...
i've had it a few weeks now, stripped the front wings and bumpers, il post more pictures at some point but my computer has decided it doesn't want to work anymore and uploading pictures to here by phone takes a while...

    a bit of slow progress..
many spiderwebs and a lot less rust than i would have thought.
    .

the wings arent too bad, just rusty at the front where they connect to the chassis
front valance is pretty solid just a bit tatty around the edges
underneath the rear bumper is suprisingly rust free
there's dents around both tail lights, drivers side isnt too bad but the passenger side doesnt sit right at all, will probably need an afternoon with a big hammer,
not too sure how to attack the scrape under the filler cap, ive took the filler neck off but still cant really get to it.

and one last picture for now
i left it uncovered one of the nights when it rained quite a bit, im guessing water got in through the holes for the wing.. anyway its covered up now so hopefully no more shrooms

made some rather slow progress over the last couple of months after being stupidly busy at work.
gradually taking bits off with not much idea what i'm doing i'll also just point out that i'm not a mechanic and i dont work with cars and i spend most of the time just waving hammers about but we'll get there eventually.
the general idea is to just fix the rusty bits, tart it up, make it look pretty etc. maybe a gsi bumper here and a coilover there, we'll see what happens.

anyway since the last post i've took the nackered rad out, took the exhaust off, took the rear shocks out, half stripped the interior, been to poland, took the discs and pads off, given it a sand here and there, poked some rust, uncovered some filler and had a ball ache with the track rod ends, nothing groundbreaking, mainly just faffing but worthy of a couple of pics

not the best for a 2 owner from new, 45k mile car, but the guys at the garage that mot'd it said it turned up every year with a new dent or scrape somewhere... so lets just say it's got 'character'
