    Default are c20ne blocks the same as c20xe?

    hi Iv just been given a cavalier 4x4 of a family member and wondered if I could use the block to convert to 16v? anyone no if this can be done? if not I will just sell the cav and buy a c20xe for my nova?......cheers

    not the same i dont think but it would bolt up

    ok fella cheers just wondered if water ways an oil ways are the same....just don't kno weather its worth me stripping the cav or selling it ? I kno the loom and everything will be different im just curious as it has f20 gearbox on it and looks the same from outside just with 8v head...:/

    yeah it's a family 2 block so should be no different in terms of bolting up

    thanks for the help man much appreciated, would the block handle the 16v head? or would you recommend me just getting a full c20xe block and head?

    Of course the ne and xe blocks will interchange. Look for either a v6 c25xe or similar, or a 2.0 or 2.2 ecotec. They will be cheaper and in a way better condition than a c20xe
