    Engine block paint what is the best type of paint to use ?.
    Any old paint or a special type ?.

    I just used hammerite direct to rust stuff, seams to have done the job.

    Yep I've used Hammerite before too and seems to of worked ok for me

    I used engine enamel paint from halfords cheap enough and seems to last

    Chris gsi nearest Halfords to me is about 700 miles away.

    Might make it slightly uneconomical to pick it up.i was going to order lotus gray pain from qed but left it to late to order as I wanted my engine in quickly

    I have cheap rattle can body paint on my Let block right behind the turbo. Still looks like the day i painted it.

    They don't get that hot really..

    Same as Chris, used halfords engine paint in a spray gun with thinners, a few coats and it looks great
