Sadly my weekend didn't finish well.

With the rain lashing it down as i left, found my car was bogging down. When the rain cleared it start to work ok so carried on.
Got most the way home and then the rain starts again. Lots of standing water... Which i think my air filter was trying to suck in, meaning the car was losing power, missing and coughing and banging.. Sadly i had to give in when it barely made it up the hill.
Stopped on the smallest bit of "hard shoulder" ever! Fearing my mirrors or side of the car where gonna be ripped off!!!

2 hours sat under a motorway bridge. Wasn't fun.

Form over function Wonder if your "air filter crap guard box" you made acts like a bit of a water scoop

I'd of shat myself leaving your car on the hard shoulder whilst traffic is flying past it.

Did u manage to limp the car home?

yeah maybe the air filter housing is acting like a water trap.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, “DAMN, what a ride!!”

That's kinda how i roll. I think your right. I don't think it's on the front panel enough, so it's picking water. So i need to look at redesigning it. Maybe enclosing the front more. I'm not really sure yet.

I'll be honest. It was frigging scarey. My mirror was over the white line. So the car was only just off the line. The A34 is a main trade route so it's full of lorries. There was so much mist from the rain too. I had hazzards and lights on, but still felt like i was about to see the car shamed to bits down the road.

Worse, that when it was on the covered over recovery truck (which was nice as it was kept dry, with a mega racist driver (but it was funny really) THere was a layby not 30sec down the road..... GGGRRRRR

Well at least the HGVs would have been slowing down before hand for a burger in the layby
