well for a while now ive wanted something that's stripped out and racer looking so i thought id start by buying a mint 1983 shell, tbh its been slow progress but im finally getting my ass into gear after selling my leaf green hatch. here are the pics that ive got of it. the person i got it from had cut out thr front panel as it was going to be a let nova and he cut the bulkhead off as well and stitched the inner wings and he had cut out the battery tray for a corsa b brake servo mod but the piece was found and welded back in

so after a good look around this shell and minimal rust was found it was time to get it on the spit and stitch the chassis legs and prep the underside ready to be stone chipped

so after a little bit more prep it was stone chipped and i made a start on cleaning and painting all the suspention and steering components and fuel tank in red oxide before painting them black

and i left it at that for a few weeks and then last weekend i prepped the engine bay for paint and the colour was finally decided..........

and its now pinapple yellow, because the bay has turned out so well (thank god after the 5 hours of prep that went into it) we are going to paint the whole car ourselves and when i say that i mean im doing 90% of the prep and my mate is painting the car .

im going to be using the x20xev engine paired with a f16 gearbox from a mk2 astra sri 8v it will have 15" compomotive th magnesium alloys 256mm front brakes and a rear disk conversion and it will have the ex vicky butler henderson gte bumpers from the sport that was used in old topgear. more coming soon

It was under weight so perfectly legal it is a under rated engine and for the cost of £100 for a package it's worth while and yet will still be fun on the road and track
