As long as the rust ain't structural or to wide spread and/or the car ain't bent you should be ok. I wouldn't worry to much about the engine(providing it aint absolutely shagged) as it won't take long for you to realise a let or xe is essential .

Aye will have a right look at the motor in a few days time to see what full shape its in. Insurance wise a let or xe engine is a no go at the moment

Good on you to be honest mate I know alot of people that drive around in highly illegal cars down as 1.0L which are pushing huge figures etc etc. I personally always declare my mods but then again im old so doesn't make a hugr amount of difference to my insurance.

I would rather pay extra and not run any risks. Just pricing up insurance and the cost of the car etc before i get my wallet out. Cant wait though wanted one for years now, just a shame none of my friends are so keen

They are just jealous mate! Out of all my cars only my FD gets more attention than my nova and that's mostly because it's insanely loud and aggressive sounding . The general public love nova's from my experience alot of people find them to be very nostalgic! Proper retro classics
