So.... Some more photos are needed, I would say...
Rear quarter after aforementioned, and "beloved", car thief had finished with it. One thing I will say is that he kept the damage local to the o/s quarter - so not all bad in that respect. Not that it made much difference anyway, as the car was knowingly getting stripped. Nonetheless, I got another 9 months use out of her before removing the old 1.4 engine and gearbox.
Lovely new GM quarter, which, by the way, made possible the continued idea of the project itself, as the car would've been written off had I not been able to source a replacement panel. Coincidence and luck were definitely on my side that month; even the car getting stolen actually worked to my advantage due to the o/s rear quarter needing replaced, which otherwise would have cost me rather my insurance. Pros and cons to it, I guess, but there you are.

On with the story in pictures it is, then....
Out with the old rotten battery tray and spot weld in with a new one. Finishing i.e., seam sealing and plating comes towards at the end. Be patient. Is not as debaucherous as it looks, and the workmanship vastly improves as I get back into the swing of things after having never served my time and been out of the trade for more than 8 years.

Next up was the o/s splash guard... Off with that and made a new one up. Forgot to add in the lip at the top, so had remake another after realising my error.
I also dug all of the rust out near the bottom of the guard and made up another plate to piece into it. A lot of the work, depicting the extent of what was done, was unfortunately missed out due to getting stuck in and absorbed with the task at hand.
