Well as it turns out, I should have looked at my Astra's calipers... although the carriers are different the piston part is the same model. But yes, I've put this out there so I expect a ripping from House and off white Nova Ian. Lol

So After all the trouble of the brakes I've been out enjoying the car,
went to the Adrian Flux Spring Static with a bit of rearranging we had 3 Novas all together. with the Mustard Yellow SR Turbo taking car of the show.

Followed by Earsham Classic car and fate,

something wasn't quite right as I had gained a fairly major steering wheel wobble so, thinking it might have been something to do with the Lotus discs I got hold of a set of spigot rings and 5mm wheel spacers

something wasn't quite right with the rear, needed to get these nasty looking rear drums

    Cracked out the White Hammerite

All sorted for the likes of PVS, the 35 year of nova gathering etc.
    then came the MOT.

Nothing to worry about, couple of advisories to sort out.

Oh and picked this up as well

Inlet manifold for twin 40s to suit the 1.6. just need to find a set of Carbs now.

Photos to follow but it's been a busy winter period,.
Nova was packed off to the bodyshop in October. I dropped the engine out for the guy. Some well has been done, not that it needed much. Engine bay is painted and engine going back in on Saturday.
Picked up a full set of Twin 40s, inlet, linkages etc plus a Cam as well.

I've talked about it, now time for the progress. a little catch with a few items that i may have missed.

When i got the car it had no Tape holders in the centre console, had see 1 on eBay but not a full set until i found these.

just what i was looking for.
    Installed and fully working

With the interior added too it was time to enjoy the car again, few photos from the 35 year of Nova

Then its last show of the year, Oh So Retro show in Margate. have to say i was pretty impressed with the show as a whole. 5th year of the show, 1st I've been too.

Then we start, October 2018. the last time the car saw the road.

Popped the bumpers off as at that time i didn't want them to be sprayed, they will be heading down the bodyshop next Friday though.

towards the end of October i popped down to the bodyshop to remove the engine from the car as i wanted the engine bay painting as well
a small amount of work had been done.

Something i had noticed was that the metalwork under the radiator wasn't great, wasn't expecting this though

I cracked on getting the Engine out, was on site at 9am, 11am, engine ready to come out

    Engine out

i helped get the windows out, boot off etc and this is how i left the car with Phil at the end of the day

I then start getting some updates from Phil on the bodywork. a lot of this would be repair works as it was more surface rust. I did have 2 new wings and Phil had a guy come in to repair the cross member.

    Cross member sorted out.

The Boot i wanted to smooth some of it off, remove the rear wiper, which Phil has done but said about the washer jet, something i hadn't thought about. He uses the old skills of Lead filling. there were also some small cracks on the sides of the boot as well.
