Default Stu's new grey SR project

    Hi people
I've been meaning to start a project thread since I got the new nova
Back in October last year (2013) but I've been to busy with work
Home kids etc and when I have had time I've spent time on the SR

Anyway I got the SR from oli (top bloke) a steel grey (surprise surprise my usual colour choice)
F reg nova SR with only 51k on the clock loads of history and in good condition
Worst bits on the body two little patches on the lower part of the rear wheel arches
Where they meet the cils and a bit of bubbling on the drivers door bottom!

Apart from that not bad a bit of damage to the drivers seat and bits of trim missing.

The plan was to strip the car and rebuild it with lots of new clean parts.
Remove engine, rebuild, clean and paint the bay
Strip underside of the car and paint.

I drove the nova back from oli's house (100 miles+) with a big smile on my face
Got it home, straight in my warm dry garage and I didn't touch it again
    Until after christmas

    Thanks for looking
    More to come

    Looks nice and clean.
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi
    Far from suicidal
    Still I get them tendencies
    Bringing back them memories
That I really miss when I reminisce

Cheers Ben, and yes Jeff I do think sometimes I should have kept the GSI but the one I do regret selling
Is the steel grey SR that I got of si (SRimon) and the black nova that Paul (wardy's) just got.
I did loads to that car, think he going to billing with it!

Anyway the plan with the new GREY SR was to go for the clean and factory fresh look
First job was to drop the 1.3 engine out and clean and paint the bay.
Didn't need much work no rust or rot but not clean enough for me,
Sorry I didn't take many photos I just wanted to get stuck in

The bay stripped, flatted of and the different sealers and primers before colour

The next job was to strip all the parts down clean and paint everything
New seals, boots, covers, stainless steel nuts and bolts where can they could be used

    More to come
