Default Seat Cordoba estate. 1.9 tdi

not a proper project but I will be messing around with this so thought why not make a thread

so I got this car as a straight swap for my old transit that was falling apart at a alarming rate (the swap was really helped by the fact the guy showed up late at night steaming drunk and refused to take any of his friends advice ). so seems as the transit well and truly paid for its self and insome this car is effectly a free!

106k miles. 1.9tdi (vw engine crazy good on squirt 60+ mpg).

its just back from the mechanics (big thanks to iain for trailering it there) with a 12 month ticket now on it . just had a replacement front subframe. rear drums fettled. new droplinks, all the lower arm bushes replaced, two new rear wheel bearings (again another nod to iain for coming around and showing me how to change them) and its got 4 new tyres on it.....

so it will be staying around for a bit as her indoors decided she doesn't want to keep ferrying the dogs around in the fiesta. and I decided I kind of like it in a strange way

her are some pictures of it unwashed and grubby as hell

getting 6 months tax on it next weekend and giving her a wash. thinking of buying some 2nds hand Coilovers from a golf and a set of alloys chucking them on to smarten it up a bit

also for ****s and giggles looking at a cheapo tuning box and putting a boost gauge in it might even de cat the exhaust

-get a dog guard for the back
-clean and tidy up the interior
    -clear side repeaters
-(shoot me down if you wish. but might tint the part of the rear lights that runs along the tailgate)
-change the front pads and discs
-get the alignment redone as its pulling to the right
-get a cd player installed (maybe uprate the front speakers if I can find some cheap jbl componets)
-fit quickshift style linkage to reduce the gear throw. its stupid right now you punch the dash in 1st, 3rd and 5th
    -remove the towbar
-repaint the rear bumper as it has some kind of spider web/lattice effect right now :/ (anyone got advice of a hard wearing paint so it dosnt scratch to easy with the dogs jumping in all the time?)

would also love to bin the std central locking system as it pants! and I want a car I car bleep open with a fob

spent 2 and a half hours on this piece of poo today, trying to clean grease and oil of paint work with out degreasing/road grime agents is a nightmare

but she looks a bit better just needs a polish and a wax now

noticed loads more tiny spots of rust about to start where paint has been chipped away, so I will get them all sorted and painted at some point. also loads more stone chips then I first realised but its 16 years old so it is expected I suppose.

took some 2500 wet and dry to some of the deeper looking scratches, some strange stuff I think might have been extremely old tree sap but I don't know and behind all the door handles, very lightly and kept very wet...

(looked a lot worse then the pictures show tbh) Before

    After

    very happy with the results

the interior is looking very grubby and will be tackled during the week or next weekend

need to get a new gear gaiter and was looking at those diy flocking kits for the handbrake. but unsure of how hard wearing a DIY flock will be

then it started to rain so I gave up

it would look really cool with the rear door glass & rear quarters covered in white vinyl... like a cool caddy van...

most tuning of that engine seems to be based round just how big the turbo is. they fitted loads of different versions & some are miniscule

its based on a inca van/ polo estate

I don't know what turbo this has but it takes a while to kick in nearly 3k. goes nicely when on boost not fast but really smooth
